William H. Fallon, of Rutherford, passed away peacefully in St. Mary's Hospital in Passaic on March 30th, 2019 at the age of 95.
As a young man, William proudly entered the United States Army serving in WWII. During this period and after his Service he was a well known Professional Boxer known as Bill Fallon “the Boxer”. He always maintained being physically fit and strong so he was never hospitalized in his 95 years of life until his most recent illness. In William’s career, he was a Longshoreman and became Director of Benefits Funds at the NYSA-ILA. During “9/11” William was one of the men (at 77 years old) who helped survivors exit safely out of the World Trade Center, Building 2.
William had a deep love for his wife Elizabeth (nee Barry) who passed away in 2008 after 61 years of marriage. His family meant everything to him and he felt blessed to have 8 wonderful children and his 10 grandchildren known as his “Little Pals”. He had a love for animals, sports and enjoyed teaching and helping children play sports.
William is survived by his loving children, William and partner Ann, Charlotte, Robert & wife Joan Leenig, Veronica Sciortino & husband Joseph, Raymond & partner Velia, Lynn Ann Lawlor & husband Thomas, Patrick & wife Margaret and Kelly Ann Giresi & husband Anthony, his 10 adoring grandchildren, Erinn, Kevin, Devin, Shane, Rachel, Meghan, Christine, Sean, Shannon, Daniele and his sister Eileen Marino.

Family will receive friends Friday 6-9pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.
Funeral Saturday, gathering at the funeral home at 9:30 am followed by 10:30am Mass of Christian Liturgy in the Church of St. Mary, Rutherford.
Private Interment.
If so desired, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

William’s family would like to give a special thanks to the Dr’s, Staff and Hospice care given to William while in St Mary’s Hospital, Passaic.

We know you would be with us today, if Heaven wasn't so far away.
Heaven gained the absolute best angel it could have ever asked for, Grandpa. Thank you for your stories, laughs, songs, life lessons and love, that will stay with us forever.
I love you Pal O' Mine

Your Dad seems like such a great guy...we never realized he did so much. Him helping people out of the World Trade Center showed the compassion he had for others.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

We love you!
