Obituary for Richard Kmiec
Richard Kmiec, 66, of Rutherford, passed away Thursday December 31, 2020. He was born in Methuen, Massachusetts to Fred and Frances (nee Szewezyk) Kmiek.
He received a Bachelor’s degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA.
Richard Later moved to New Jersey residing briefly in North Bergen and Passaic before settling in Rutherford, where he and his wife Florence remained for over 20 years.
Before retirement, Richard was the Plant Manager at Sun Chemical for 43 years in Carlstadt.
Richard was an avid Chess player, belonging to Chess clubs in the past and playing "on line" more recently. He also was a devoted family man.
Richard will be deeply missed by his loving wife Florence (nee Pezzola), his stepchildren, Traci Sakosits & husband Joseph Perlingiero, Cheryl Sakosits, grandson, Charles Perlingiero, sister-in-law, Camille Kmiec (wife of late brother Robert Kmiec) and nephew Michael Kmiec. He is predeceased by his parents, Fred and Frances.
A Memorial Mass to celebrate Richard's life will be Tuesday January 12th at 12:00pm in the Church of Saint Mary, 91 Home Ave., Rutherford.
