Marion Murray, (nee Vodopia) 97, long time resident of Rutherford passed away on Wednesday, October 17th, 2018. She was born and raised in Hoboken in 1921 and was a graduate of A J Demarest H.S. She became a Legal Secretary for Milton Stover Law Office in Hoboken.
Marion met her sweetheart Harry and remained in Hoboken to begin their family. In 1964 they settled in Rutherford. They had three wonderful children and a beautiful marriage until Harry passed away in 1990, they were married for 46 years. Marion was a private woman; very devoted to her family and her faith. She was an active member of St. Mary Church in Rutherford. Marion loved to travel, she and Harry traveled all over Europe; she also loved cruises. She was a huge Yankee fan, and enjoyed completing crossword puzzles. Most of all she was a great baker and loved baking for her large and growing family.
Marion will be deeply missed by her children James and his wife Mary Ann, Thomas and his wife Claudette, Judith Ann Strothers and her husband Richard, her 7 grandchildren; Marybeth Lloyd and husband James, Tara Murray, Sean Murray, Jason Murray and wife Danielle, Kristine Murray, Andrea Dovoric and husband Keith, Michael Strothers and fiancé Jasmine Diaz, her 9 great-grandchildren; Ana Murray, Devlin Murray, Aidan Yablonsky, Charles Dovoric, Dyllan Dovoric, Keira Yablonsky, James Murray, Ryan Murray and Nicholas Lloyd, her 2 great-great-grandchildren; Sophia Murray and Bentley Murray. Marion is predeceased by her siblings; Elizabeth Hallihan, Thomas Vodopia and Helen Delaney.
Family will receive friends Sunday 3-7pm in the Calhoun-Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.
Funeral Monday 8:30am from Funeral Home for 9:30am Mass of Christian Liturgy in the Church of Saint Mary, Rutherford.
Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, No. Arlington.
