Doris Loraine Korosy, 92, of Cresskill, NJ, formerly of Wantagh, NY died on Dec. 20, 2018 in Cresskill. She was married for 61 years to the late Louis B. Korosy who passed away in January 2011. Doris was born in Queens, NY, to the late William and Johanna C. (Schmidt) Anger. She graduated from Cooper Union Night Art Program in 1949 and received an Associates Degree from Nassau Community College in 1971. Doris had an artistic nature and was an avid flower arranger and a garden lover. She was a long time member of Paumanacke Garden Club, NY. She served on the Board of Directors and was the newsletter editor of the Federated Garden Clubs of New York State. Doris was the co-owner of the gift shop, A Different Drummer, with locations in NY & PA. She was also involved with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. In the 1990’s, Doris and her husband lived in Dalian, China for a few years because of Lou’s job.
Surviving family members include her daughter, Kathryn (Michael) Joffred, Wyomissing, PA, son Alan S. (Michelle) Korosy, Rutherford, NJ, and daughter-in-law, Diane Korosy, Newton, NC. She was predeceased by a son, Louis W. Korosy, and her sister, Muriel Lindsay and brother, William H. Anger. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Calhoun Mania Funeral Home, Rutherford, NJ is in charge of the arrangements. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Doris often gave floral arranging demonstrations at the local library and in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations in her name to be made to:
