Obituary for Richard Datz
Richard Datz, 71, of Rutherford, passed away on Sunday May 20th, 2018. Born in Jersey City to the late Arthur & Cecelia Datz in 1946.
As a young man Richard proudly served his Country in the United States Army in Vietnam. After his Military Service, he married the love of his life Debra A. (nee Fairclough). She and their family were most important to Richard. Richard and Debra made sure they had “date night” every Friday until she sadly, passed away in 2015. He loved his time with his wife. Richard was a Truck Driver employed by Gold Coast Trucking in Jersey City since 1972, before retiring.
Richard will be missed by his devoted son R. Blake Datz, 7 siblings; Carolyn Harding, Mary Musella & husband Lawrence, John Datz & Kathleen, Bernice Bonilla & husband Pete, Bernadette Zacharda & husband Jack, Raymond Datz, Margaret Datz, his sister- in- law( the late Edward) Dorothy Datz, sister-in-law Dawn and husband George Argondizza and numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. He is predeceased by 2 brothers; Edward Datz and Arthur Datz.
Family will receive friends Thursday 2-4pm & 7-9pm in the Calhoun Mania Funeral Home, 19 Lincoln Ave., Rutherford.
Funeral Friday gathering 9am in Funeral Home for a 10am Service given by Richards sister, Mary Musella.
Cremation following at East Ridgelawn Crematory, Clifton. (United States Honor Guard Flag Presentation.)
